4th of July Dinner Party

It’s the most patriotic time of the year! What better way to send a love letter to our beautiful America than with a delicious and festive 4th of July dinner party? In your Stateson home and backyard, gather your friends and family for an evening of red, white, and blue-tiful memories that you’ll never forget.

Get ready to unleash your inner chef and try your hand at home decor — this is going to be the dinner party of the summer! Check out our food and design tips that’ll make Independence Day your favorite holiday all year:

Appetizer

Tasty finger food to munch on while mingling is the perfect way to wow a crowd. In the heat of the summer, something light and refreshing always makes a big impact! Try Watermelon Feta Mint Skewers for a simple and flavorful snack that’s both easy to make and easy to gobble up.

Similarly, Patriotic Popcorn, popcorn paired with dried blueberries and cranberries, is extremely easy to assemble, serve, and clean. (Plus, it’s perfectly in theme!) For more delicious ideas, like irresistible Crab Hush Puppies and vibrant Mediterranean Chicken Pinwheels, click here.

Drinks

Nothing gets a dinner party started like a festive drink! Firecracker Berry Margarita Floats are fun, tasty, and photo-worthy all in one! This fruity drink combines margaritas with sweet ice cream, and is topped off with a patriotic fruit skewer. You can make a non-alcoholic version so kids can enjoy them as well.

Red White and Sparkling Blueberry is another great drink to bring everyone together. This fizzy beverage (that can be served the old-fashioned way!) is made with Moscato, sparkling blueberry juice, pineapple coconut vodka, and of course, all of the blueberries and strawberries any 4th of July party needs!

Main Course

We all remember Independence Day celebrations of years past filled with grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, so why not get a little creative this year? While sticking to the classics, add something new into the mix, like incredible Old Bay Shrimp, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth Slow-Cooked Teriyaki Ribs, and creative and fun Heirloom BLT Salad!

Your guests will love enjoying the foods they expect on the 4th of July, along with a delicious little twist. Don’t be afraid to try something out of the ordinary! For more unique ideas and inspiration about what to serve for your big party, click here.

Dessert

No dinner party would be complete without something sweet to top it all off. Finger food like chewy Fireworks Blondies, fun and crunchy Patriotic Trail Mix, and sweet Patriotic Whoopie Pies are great if you’re throwing a party that encourages a lot of walking around.

For dinner parties where guests will be seated for much of the night, a larger dessert dish like 4th of July Cake Roll, Firecracker Cake, and No Bake Summer Berry Icebox Cake are perfect to entertain and delight. And of course, you can never go wrong with a classic ice cream sundae bar with festive toppings!

Backyard Decor

When it comes to holidays, the 4th of July is truly special because of the incredible colors we have to work with. The perfect time to show off your love and appreciation for America, red, white, and blue accessories, from napkins, to paper plates and silverware, to table covers, always do the trick.

When it comes to your backyard, however, don’t forget about lighting! String lights, whether plain or 4th of July-themed, will add a twinkling aura to your space. Not to mention, these magical lights will illuminate the area once the sun goes down.

If you’re a sucker for DIY, try out a few of our favorite crafts: 1) adorn your front step with a Stars and Stripes Flower Pot, 2) light up the night with 4th of July Lantern Jars, and 3) let your guests take the coolest photos ever with a gorgeous and creative American Flag Backdrop: #4thofJuly2018!

Fun Bonus Idea

One of the reasons why the 4th of July is so beloved is because of the irreplaceable memories we’ve made celebrating as children. If you now have children of your own, make sure to include them in the festivities so they can also look back fondly on one of the greatest holidays of all.

Unleash your children’s creativity and encourage them to create a fun and festive Popsicle Stick Flag. They’ll absolutely love being in charge of their own art project and making something beautiful to remember the summer by.

This 4th of July, get ready for your greatest dinner party yet! Your (builder) home and backyard are the perfect spaces to entertain family and friends with delicious food, great conversation, and laughter in abundance. Hit the music, get your appetite ready, and wear your best red, white, and blue — the best night of the summer is here! Happy 4th of July!
